Tolles Konzert nach Probenwochenende – Musikverein Edelweiß

Ein Probewochenende hatten das Schülerorchester (SOS) und das Jugendblasorchester (JBO) des Musikvereins Edelweiß Sulzbach hinter sich, als sie zum Abschlusskonzert luden. In der Halle des Schullandheims Hobbach konnten sie unter Leitung von Andreas Fath und Winfried Rehse die Zuhörer vom Erfolg der Probearbeit überzeugen.
Eröffnet wurde das Konzert vom Schülerorchester Sulzbach mit dem „Driving-Test “, einem Solo-Stück für Schlagzeug von Luigi di Ghisallo. Adrian Bergmann konnte hier an den Drums zeigen, was in ihm steckt. Das Jugendblasorchester führte mit „The Battle of Varlar “ von Rob Goorhuis ein Werk auf, das als Pflichtstück für ein Wertungsspiel am 12. Mai in Unterpleichfeld bei Würzburg zum Einsatz kommen wird. Das SOS legte mit einer von Johnnie Vinson arrangierten Version des bekannten Songs „I ’m a Believer “ nach. Das Stück “Cityscapes ” von Jan de Haan ist eine Hommage an New York und wurde vom Jugendblasorchester vorgetragen. Mit dem Swing “Rock my Soul ” ließen es nun die Schüler wieder krachen. Mit dem Schlussstück “Chantueri ” von Lorenzo Pusceddu zeigte das JBO nochmals, auf welch hohem Niveau sie inzwischen spielen. Auch das Schülerorchester griff mit “Accidentally in Love ” (im Original von Adam F. Duritz, Arr. Michael Sweeney) nochmals auf Filmmusik aus dem Film „Shrek 2 “ zurück. Die Zuhörer dankten den Jugendlichen mit viel Applaus für ihr Konzert und forderten noch Zugaben.
