Benefizkonzert gegen die Kinderlähmung – Musikverein Edelweiß

Elsenfeld. Die Kinderlähmung ausmerzen – dieses Ziel hat sich Rotary International, die Dachorganisation der Rotary Clubs, gestellt. Mit Indien, Pakistan, Afghanistan und Nigeria sind Menschen in vier Ländern von Poliomyelitis betroffen. Mit UNO und WHO wollen die Rotarier das Virus endgültig besiegen. Einen Beitrag zur Finanzierung leistet der Rotary Club Obernburg mit dem Charity-Konzert „Symphonie in Blech“ am Samstag, 24. Oktober, ab 20 Uhr im Elsenfelder Bürgerzentrum.
An diesem Rotary-Kinderpoliotag werden die 50 Musiker des Symphonischen Blasorchesters Sulzbach einen Querschnitt ihres Könnens bieten.
Von Meij bis Bernstein
Sie spielen Stücke von Johan de Meij (Sätze aus der Sinfonie The Lord of the Rings), Wolfgang Heinrich (Konzertsuite in F), Sepp Tanzer (Tirol 1809), Jan van der Roost (Flashing Winds, Et in Terra Pax), Benny Anderson und Björn Ulvaeus (Highlights from Chess) sowie Elmer Bernstein (Marsch aus „Die glorreichen Sieben“). Im Lauf der Jahre hat sich das Hauptorchester des 1923 gegründeten Musikvereins „Edelweiß Sulzbach“ von einer traditionellen Blaskapelle zum Symphonischen Orchester entwickelt.
Internationale Auftritte
Das Repertoire unter der Regie von Dirigent Winfried Rehse umfasst alle Sparten der geblasenen Musik von Kirchenmusik über gehobene Unterhaltungs- bis zur konzertanten Blasmusik. Internationale Auftritte hatte man in Brünn/Tschechische Republik und Riba del Garda/Italien. Einlass im Elsenfelder Bürgerzentrum ist bereits ab 19 Uhr. Der Eintrittspreis beträgt zwölf Euro, ermäßigt sechs Euro.
