Blasorchester Sulzbach: Eröffnet wurde das Konzert vom Jugendblasorchester, das sich erst kürzlich bei einem Wertungsspielen in der Mittelstufe das Prädikat »mit ausgezeichnetem Erfolg teilgenommen« erspielen konnte. Mit »Masurische Rhapsodie« von Alfred Bösendorfer und einem Medley aus »Mary Poppins« brachten sie das Publikum in die richtige Stimmung. Zudem nutzte der Musikverein Sulzbach den Auftritt des Jugendblasorchesters für die Überreichung des »Junior-Award 2006«, der dem Musikverein Sulzbach von der Nordbayerischen Bläserjugend verliehen wurde. Das sinfonische Blasorchester fand seinen Einstieg mit dem Konzertmarsch »Arsenal« von Jan Van der Roost und wagte sich im Anschluss an Mozarts »Entführung aus dem Serail«. Ebenso glänzten die Musiker beim anschließenden »Ivanhoe« von Bert Appermont. Im zweiten Konzertteil entwickelten die Sulzbacher spanisches Flair bei »Alcazar« von Llano. Mit »A New Village« folgte ein Werk von Kees Vlak. Danach kam »Czárdás« von Vittorio Monti sowie »Highlights from Evita«. Offizieller Abschluss des Konzerts bildete John Miles’ weltbekanntes »Music«. Drei Zugaben musste das Orchester spielen, bevor es von den Zuhörern entlassen wurde: Neben »Mein Regiment« und »Starlight-Express« war dies der Schwabengruß, mit dem die Musiker dem in diesem Jahr verstorbenen Ehrenmitglied Winfried Zahn gedachten.
