Jetzt war es endlich soweit: 38 Musiker vertraten den Bayerischen Untermain musikalisch und begeisterten das Publikum. Größte Attraktion war der Festzug zum Köpenicker Rathaus entlang des Weges, den vor 100 Jahren der Schuster Voigt als »Hauptmann von Köpenick« nahm, um den Bürgermeister zu verhaften und die Stadtkasse zu beschlagnahmen. Seit 2000 organisiert das Blasorchester Köpenick zusätzlich den »Köpenicker Blasmusiksommer«, zu dem je zwei Orchester aus dem Bundesgebiet oder dem Ausland sowie ein Orchester aus Berlin eingeladen sind. Alle vier nehmen am Festzug teil und wechseln sich mit Konzerten ab.
